Why Is Pellet Stove Dust In House

Desperately Seeking Susan (1985)

I can still remember, more or less at the time as "Susan - Desperately seeking" in the cinema was, at that time the film was of course angry burdened by the fact that Madonna starred there. In my series about New York films, which I opened a few weeks ago with Jacobs Ladder, today I want to once again call this Fim remembered.

aesthetic, fashionable , musically - he is undoubtedly egg con fully owned child of the 1980s. The focus really is not Madonna, but Rosanna Arquette. Which unfortunately have long had no more striking appearance. The last one I can think of is the strong woman pierced dealer in Pulp Fiction.

But there is a lot to see New York: the superficial and the bored New Yorkers who belong to the affluent strata of society and its climax free life. A dirty little vaudeville theater somewhere on Broadway, in which a chaotic and unintentionally funny show is on offer, accompanied by a grumpy old Zauseln Show orchestra louder. The Battery Park in an optical system, which today also in details no longer coincide. The apartment of Aidan Quinn, a little greasy, but interesting Loft, that was probably located in SoHo. A disco with punk, new wave and industrial audience. In the then realistic to Madonna music. And appear in the dentists, subways, hairdressers, taxi, punk musician, stolen Egyptian jewelry, thrift stores, projectionists and bath retailers. And a New York that came across certainly not as drecking as that of the 1970s. But that still far from the polished New York was removed, which one finds today the most part.

I'm looking ...

... according to the Dupe " Acidic Reign " pigment of TheSheSpace (used for example in the AMU ). At that time, rather ordered by chance and since then fallen completely in the shade. By the time my order of Pure Luxe I thought at first that I was in "Boy Toy " would have eventually found an acceptable substitute. When Swatch with a brush but it was clear that I was disappointed because clearly. But see for yourself:

lr Boy Toy, Acidic Reign

How you can see is " Acidic Reign " essential green-heavy as "Boy Toy " and also includes a beautiful golden glow. This is in "Boy Toy" only minimally present. Too bad. But I keep looking!

Has anyone of you may have an idea where I could look around me sometimes? :)

Funny Sayings On Name Tags

Vintage Times Square

dates from the 1940s, this color film that was filmed mainly in Times Square, but probably also scenes from the viewing platform at the Rockefeller Center (on Top of the Rock, thank you Franz!) Includes.

Also from the 1940s comes this short excerpt that also documents the Times Square about 60 years ago.

want more? No problem. Here comes a film from the late 1940s. The focus of interest is still the Times Square.

And finally, there is a brave artist who crosses the Times Square in 1932 in high altitudes and holds only with their teeth from a rope. Respect!

( This is an actual filming in 1932 with a woman crossing Times Square, New York, hanging by her teeth This is real and what I love is that she does an aerobic routine while she is hanging by her teeth;. Because hanging by her teeth might not be 500 feet up enticing enough. Awesome and will never be repeated .)

The woman who runs this really dangerous stunt apparently without a safety net, this is probably the artist with the stage name Tiny Kline.

Another Trip to the World Building

I do this evening is yet another celebrity-A representative from the series of Gone Buildings of New York City pay a visit. Michal Juroška was so kind and sent me the pictures made from his inexhaustible source available.

The picture above is the scenery on Park Row, shortly after completion of the World Building, it is dated 1891st Bottom left the New Yorker, Town Hall left behind the brand new World Building, then tallest office building in the city and across the globe in the middle of the building of the Sun (small, middle left) and the Tribune Building (large, middle right) . On the right extended to the new building a few floors of the building of the New York Times. A good 10 years later the company moved to Longacre Square, accompanied by a renaming of the square.

image number 2 was 6 years later in 1897, the perspective is now more oriented to the birds, while in 1891 the view was still on loan to the frogs from the pond at the City Hall Park . At the Newspaper Row has not really changed much, only the Times Building has been given on the back of a neighbor who is still a good head taller.

Addendum:..
"Hi skull," is a head taller "neighbor to the American Tract Society Picture 2 Building, built in 1894-96, it is one of the few still existing skyscrapers of the 19th century is today Park Place Tower, and it now houses the renovation 10 years ago luxury apartments. Greetings Dirk "(Dirk Stichweh to comment) "

A wonderful documentation of the New York skyline in 1903 we see here. The world building is quite far to the left outside. And by the way this photograph also answered some of those questions that the 1900 Skyline had left open in the last week.

We return to the Park Row and City Hall Park in 1908, the perspective has now been amended so that the viewer now than at 90 degrees north to the last location (1897) stands.

The view from the northwest to the world building is rather unusual and reveals a relatively simple design at the north facing side of the building. In the middle the old City Hall Post Office and right, no Woolworth Building. Yet. Care must also on the Tribune Building, which quietly a few Floors scored separately. We would be additional.

sees 1913 the City Hall Park will have something different from controls on the right side and now the brand-new Woolworth Building as the tallest building in the area.

Eventually, it was the owner of the Tribune probably too colorful, that Mr. Pulitzer always from his office in the dome of the World Building looking down on him. Therefore, he decided in the context of the turn of the century, the Tribune Building hope to extend a story in the sky and show the publisher of the New York World, where the rubber meets the road. So hastily to the higher towers down and photographed the rose involuntarily lowered competitors on the dome. Grapeshot! Exact date not known, unfortunately.

More World Building? No problem, operate, and that plenty of you here:

Origin Of M On Response Card

before the Penn Station came

Pennsylvania Station, short-Penn Station, we see the top (left) on a photograph from 1929, is certainly one of the celebrity A-Gone Buildings of New York City. I The building has a full series in this blog devoted to, but would now stoking a handful of images from the time that I at that time were not available.

As would be the one this card from the collection of David Rumsey, showing the neighborhood as it looked in 1891, almost 20 years before the magnificent railway station was built there.
http://www.davidrumsey.com/

left we see the vertical run and 8th Avenue right in the middle of the 7th Avenue, the street, which is also top of the photo sees. The Pennsylvania Station was placed on the upper and mid-block between these two avenues and covered (and covered) the area between 33rd and 31st Avenue. The number of houses that once stood on the two blocks and you can see here are torn down long ago and forgotten.

extent to which the buildings on the block between 31st and 30th Street including still, I can not say. St. John the Baptist, a Catholic church built in 1872, is still documented at the point on the map, I passed by during my visit in September / October 2010 there.

This church is not hard on the photo below from 1907 to identify which was taken from the 7th Avenue (in the foreground). The road between the front edge of the trench and building in the middle is the 31st Street. In the huge excavation work on the ground Pennsylvania Station are already powerful in progress, but until its completion in 1910 it took another 3 years.

Finally, there are 4 shots from the Pennsylvania Station during the construction phase, which arose in 1908. Who is (again) got the taste and would like to pay a detailed visit to the Penn Station can follow the path here:

Are There Such A Thing As Sprinklerhead Covers?

Dupesuche in their own ranks

at the Swatch of Defining Duo Blushes Catrice me was a certain similarity to the blush on from the current flora Lista LE. In order to investigate this I put my nose in the different times of Catrice Blushes and have come to the following conclusion:

From left to right left sound " 020 Peach Sorbet " Flora Lista Blush, leftist tone " 010 Raspberry Ice Cream "

lr new range - right tone of " 020 Peach Sorbet " can Flora Blush Lista old range " Coral Sand "

I think the bottom image you can not really speak of a dupe. To this end, the orange shade of the Flora Lista Blushes is well pigmented. For this show "Peach sorbet" and "Coral Sand" with each other in my opinion great similarities. :)

The upper Image is nothing I can personally make any significant difference, except that the flora Lista Blush one probably. again slightly more intense pigmentation.

How you look in it? Are there similarities? Is it worth it (sometimes with the great design of the LE Blushes apart) a Nuance Blush's chasing at least similar is available in the standard range? :)
